stop looking at me | 2021 | acrylic on wood
this is a set of paintings i created for an assignment centered around identity in painting ii class in college.
i began with some sketches of what i intitially had in mind which were based on self-reflection and perceptions. i felt most drawn to my last sketch which was not too far off from the result’s composition. to connect both wooden panels i used the arm as the connection as well as the same painting style and textures. i used acrylic paint and then finalized the piece with paint pens to give it more contrast that it needed.
it’s one of many representations of my anxiety and how it can be destructive and affect myself.
